Conversion to PeopleSoft


Background

A publicly traded company was a nationwide provider of custom software and IT consulting services. The company acquired a regional firm an in effort to increase penetration and enhance its overall service offerings.

Problem

After the acquisition, the two companies needed to migrate their accounting and human resources systems to a global PeopleSoft platform.

Solution

The company retained Paladin to assess system integration requirements and provide a team of PeopleSoft professionals. The Paladin team met with teams from each organization for a joint application review (JAR) to gain an understanding of existing accounting and HR systems.

After review and analysis, the Paladin team:
  • designed, developed, and implemented a project plan that included conversion of all data onto the PeopleSoft platform
  • undertook implementation, parallel testing and user training/acceptance testing of the integrated application
  • safely managed data conversion and population of data into required databases

Result

Paladin consultants merged all accounting systems and HR functionality onto the existing PeopleSoft platform in less than 10 months, well before the client’s expected completion time of 12 months. In addition, Paladin consultants trained both organizations to use the integrated system with 100% retention of existing staff.
